The Sun Belt Conference has penned a deal with US Integrity and its joint venture ProhiBet to gain enhanced sports betting integrity monitoring services.

The deal will see US Integrity provide its monitoring software to the Sun Belt Conference and all 14 of its member teams as well as education sessions each year for student-athletes, coaches, staff and officials.

US Integrity will perform weekly integrity monitoring of all sports and fixtures across the Sun Belt Conference, as well as give the league access to ProhiBet, USI’s joint venture with Odds On Compliance offering a solution to ensure that prohibited persons do not bet on the platform.

“The Sun Belt Conference is dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of competition across all of our sponsored sports,” said Sun Belt Conference Commissioner, Keith Gill.

“Our partnership with US Integrity and ProhiBet underscores this commitment – particularly given the current landscape of sports wagering in our industry.”

The deal comes at a time when college sports integrity has been under the spotlight throughout 2023, with a scandal in Iowa seeing up to 40 student-athletes under investigation for sports betting-related infractions.

Using USI’s services and the ProhiBet platform will allow the league to “solidify its oversight surrounding sports betting” and “enhance its control over the dissemination of the conference’s data”.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Sun Belt Conference – the combination of ProhiBet’s state-of-the-art encrypted data transfer system and the conference’s dedication to the integrity of sport will undoubtedly enhance the transparency and trustworthiness of sports wagering activities,” added Matt Heap, Managing Director of ProhiBet.
