Tipico Sportsbook has expanded its partnership with US Integrity to include the ProhiBet solution, ensuring that its platform is protected from prohibited players.

Under the terms of the deal, Tipico will integrate ProhiBet into its platform, ensuring that those who are not eligible to bet using its app are not so, including student athletes, coaches, staff and officials.

It comes off the back of a myriad of issues in 2023 regarding college athletes embroiled in sports betting scandals. In Iowa, up to 50 student athletes were investigated as part of a sports betting issue, while a parent was banned from betting after sharing insider information with Alabama baseball coaches, who were ultimately fired.

In response, US Integrity launched ProhiBet as a joint venture with Odds On Compliance, with which it has agreed a merger.

“We are thrilled to partner with Tipico – the combination of ProhiBet’s state-of-the-art encrypted data transfer system and Tipico dedication to upholding the integrity of sports will undoubtedly enhance the transparency and trustworthiness of current and future prohibited bettors,” stated Matt Heap, Managing Director of ProhiBet.

Using ProhiBet, Tipico can ensure that those issues are limited and that those not approved to bet do not use its platform.

The solution will perform cross-monitoring and notify Tipico of any breaches to improve security and transparency.

“At Tipico, we place profound importance on the integrity of the sports betting experience, and we are excited to continue working with US Integrity to ensure that our online experience is fully secure and compliant,” added Adrian Vella, Tipico Sportsbook CEO.

“The addition of ProhiBet will further augment and reinforce Tipico’s commitment to wagering integrity as we exercise careful diligence amid the rapid growth of sports betting in the US.”
