In the midst of a milestone year, DraftKings will ring in the 2018-19 NFL season and celebrate its first-to-market Sportsbook app at a “Kickoff Bash” on Sunday, September 9. Held in partnership with Thuzio, this public, ticketed event will be held at Pilsener Haus & Biergarten in Hoboken, New Jersey, only a short distance from the company’s new Garden State office.
Kickoff Bash attendees will be able to watch the 1 pm and 4 pm ET games on the NFL’s Week 1 slate alongside a few New York football legends. They will include former New York Giants running backs Tiki Barber and Brandon Jacobs; former New York Jets center and captain Nick Mangold; and long-time WFAN radio host Mike Francesa.
“Football remains the most popular sport in America, and the start of the NFL season is unsurprisingly the busiest, but most thrilling time for us,” said Ezra Kucharz, chief business officer at DraftKings.
He added: “This year is particularly special because sports fans in New Jersey can enjoy DraftKings Sportsbook and our industry-leading daily fantasy contests. Throwing a celebration for our customers – and inviting a few huge names in New York sports to join us – is the only way to properly kick this season off.”
