Mohegan Digital is aiming to expand the reach of its offerings in the Keystone State through a partnership with one of the state’s professional sports teams.
On Thursday, the online casino division of Mohegan announced a marketing deal with the Philadelphia Flyers, less than a month after a rebrand of online sports betting operations.
As part of the pact, Mohegan and the Flyers will collaborate to deliver marketing campaigns for both retail and online gaming that include telecast integrations and online promotions.
The Flyers and Mohegan will also provide hockey fans with exclusive activations at Xfinity Mobile Arena, the home of the Flyers since the 1996-97 NHL season. Fan activations include in-game ice contests for randomly selected fans who attend home games.
“This partnership offers a great opportunity for Mohegan Digital to expand visibility in the Philly market, and what better way to do that than collaborating with the Flyers, one of the most storied franchises in pro hockey,” said Mohegan Digital VP of Digital Gaming Guy Greene. “We’re excited to bring this multi-faceted campaign to life and deliver memorable experiences both on and off the ice through this dynamic alignment with the Philadelphia Flyers and NBC Sports Philly.”
Mohegan also acquired naming rights to a segment aired on NBC Sports Philly. The segment, Mohegan Moment, will feature Flyers highlights after the conclusion of games.
Mohegan’s operations in Pennsylvania
Mohegan launched its online casino in Pennsylvania in 2024, providing players in the state with access to more than 700 slots, table games and live dealer products. Earlier this month, the company debuted the Mohegan PA Online Sportsbook. The online sportsbook is a rebrand of its previous sports wagering operations that carried Unibet branding. Unibet is no longer available in the U.S. after its parent company, Kindred, exited North America. Mohegan also operates a retail casino in Wilkes-Barre.
Flyers’ commitment to casino gaming
The Flyers teamed up with Mohegan Digital almost a year after the team landed its first deal with a poker brand. Last November, the team partnered with PokerStars, making the online poker site operator an official sponsor of the NHL franchise. The partnership provides PokerStars with TV spots and a branding presence at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The Flyers had previously partnered with Betway, signing a deal with the British brand in 2021. Last year, Betway shuttered online sports betting in the U.S. after an “extensive internal review.”
