Square in the Air is undergoing a series of leadership changes.
The marketing agency has promoted Ben Cleminson to CEO after hiring the former Director as the company’s first employee in 2007. Cleminson has been integral to building Square in the Air into a full-service agency that serves some of the largest sports betting and gaming companies in the world. Square in the Air’s portfolio of clients includes White Hat Studios, William Hill, and BetVictor. Cleminson will be leading an agency that has a workforce of more than 50 employees based in London, Manchester, and New York.
“We have a brilliant roster of clients and a hugely talented team who push themselves every day to think creatively and strategically, always focused on delivering results,” said Cleminson. “We’ll continue to do that and more.”
Square in the Air has also tapped Ollie Drew as its new COO after he first joined the company in 2009 and appointed Robin Hutchison as CCO. Hutchison, who joined Square in the Air in 2012, has assumed the role of CCO after serving as a company Director.
Cleminson, Drew, and Hutchison will report to founder Bill Esdaile, who is Chairman.
Quick stop at Square in the Air
The agency has made its latest leadership changes nearly a year after appointing Brett Smiley as VP of U.S. Operations. Smiley was tasked with expanding Square in the Air’s reach across North America while driving business development. Smiley, who joined Square in the Air after a four-year stint at Better Collective, left the company after eight months. Smiley is currently the COO of industry website owner Third Planet Affiliates.
Last week, Third Planet acquired player props-focused site Props.com from FansUnite.
