PrizePicks has unveiled a new holiday-season marketing campaign that leans on several renowned personalities, as well as announcing the return of its annual Picksmas promotional offering.
Internet personalities including Joe Budden, Druski, BigXThaPlug, Sketch and Spice Adams feature in the new commercial, which calls back to the 2013 holiday commercial which featured top NBA stars creating a festive tune via basketball dribbles and swishes. The new comedy-tinged commercial features the group of influencers attempting to recreate that iconic moment.
The commercial is now airing nationwide and will also be featured across PrizePicks’ social media platforms.
“I’d like to thank my PrizePicks family for getting me back on a basketball court so many years after I retired from the game I love,” said rapper and broadcaster Budden. “I had a blast as we always do, I can’t believe I’ve gone my whole life without knowing how athletic Spice Adams is!”
The likes of Budden and Druski have already featured heavily in past PrizePicks promo material.
“This spot is all about celebrating NBA culture, the holiday vibe, and the pure fun of hoops,” said PrizePicks Executive Creative Director Chip Singh. “We wanted to pay homage to the original Jingle Hoops but with our own playful PrizePicks twist— it’s special that we got to feature our own lineup of talent partners. The energy and humor they brought made every take a mix of laughs and surprises and it’s the kind of fun our players really understand.”
As well as the new commercial, the annual Picksmas giving campaign is back for another year. PrizePicks players are rewarded throughout the holiday season with promotions all month long, culminating with the 7 Days of Picksmas promotion in which players receive prizes such as payout boosts or free lineup rewards for every day on which they create a lineup.
PrizePicks continues momentum to end 2024
Headquartered in Atlanta, PrizePicks markets itself as the largest daily fantasy sports operator in the U.S. It currently operates in 46 jurisdictions after adding several new markets in 2024.
Most recently, the brand was awarded DFS operator licenses in Delaware and Missouri in October and launched its Arena peer-to-peer fantasy sports contest in both states. CEO Mike Ybarra noted at that time that Arena has been approved in all 15 states in which it had applied for licensing. Arena offers a leaderboard-style P2P gaming experience that allows players to compete for prizes against one another.
PrizePicks has continued to strike deals and look toward further expansion since former Blizzard Entertainment president and Microsoft executive Ybarra stepped in as CEO in August. It signed Druski to an ambassadorial deal in August and also has similar partnerships with the likes of UFC fighter Sean “Suga” O’Malley and the Stephen A. Smith Show.
