MGM Resorts International and its joint-venture operator BetMGM are linking up with the American Gaming Association (AGA) to promote Responsible Gaming Education Month (RGEM 2024) in September.

The two companies will display GameSense messaging and resources around numerous NFL stadiums for the second year running. GameSense is an industry-leading responsible gaming program developed and licensed to MGM Resorts in 2017 by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC).

GameSense messaging will be promoted prominently at nine NFL stadiums this summer:

  • Acrisure Stadium (Pittsburgh Steelers)
  • Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas Raiders)
  • Empower Field at Mile High (Denver Broncos)
  • Ford Field (Detroit Lions)
  • GHEA Field at Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City Chiefs)
  • M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore Ravens)
  • MetLife Stadium (New York Jets)
  • Nissan Stadium (Tennessee Titans)
  • State Farm Stadium (Arizona Cardinals)

“We’re excited to bring responsible gaming initiatives directly to fans in these NFL venues again this season,” said BetMGM Chief Compliance Officer Rhea Loney. “We are setting a new standard for safety and awareness in the industry. At BetMGM, we believe that protecting our players and promoting responsible play is essential to the future of sports betting.”

In addition, BetMGM will launch new RG advertisements in the coming months. MGM Resorts has also contributed $440,000 to fund responsible gaming research through the International Center for Responsible Gaming and Kingsbridge Research Institute, aimed at advancing industry best practices and filling significant research gaps on under-studied populations.

“The importance of responsible gaming research funding cannot be overstated,” added MGM Resorts SVP and Chief Compliance Officer Stephen Martino. “As a gaming industry leader, it’s imperative that our company supports efforts to better understand the diverse impact gambling has on various populations, including those that may be at greater risk of developing problematic behaviors.”

Throughout September, MGM Resorts properties across the U.S. will display new GameSense messaging prominently on table games and all slot machines. BetMGM will also release improved responsible gaming tools within its platform, designed to help players manage their budgets, stay within their limits, and promote responsible and sustainable gambling.

BetMGM bringing star power, improved slate to football season

The return of the NFL stadium campaign is part of a slate of varied offerings from BetMGM as it looks to go all-in on the new football season.

On Tuesday, as well as the NFL stadium announcement, BetMGM confirmed that it is premiering a new football season television commercial series featuring Jamie Foxx. The new spots will air nationwide in prime time and continue to run on multiple platforms throughout the upcoming season.

“I always love creating fun content with my BetMGM family when football season comes around,” said Foxx. “We had a blast filming these spots and showing the swagger of BetMGM.”

Last week, the operator unveiled a range of new and improved features on its sports betting platform, including a roster of new betting markets powered by Angstrom, Entain’s sports modeling and analytics company.

BetMGM has bolstered its parlay product, making it easier for customers to build same-game parlays (SGPs), SGP+ and more pre-packaged parlays anywhere in the app. Other new features include enhanced live bet tracking and a redesigned bet slip that allows customers to place various types of wagers in one place simultaneously. Smart Stats will give players access to key insights, data and statistics alongside betting markets.

BetMGM currently operates in 26 U.S. states, as well as Ontario and Puerto Rico.
