A pair of gambling operators are establishing presences in new Latin American markets.

Rush Street Interactive (RSI) has announced the debut of its RushBet brand in Peru as part of its business strategy to deliver products and services to Latam markets, providing access to over 30 million people. RSI’s launch in Peru builds on previous licensing deals in Latam for the company. In 2018, it became the first U.S.-based operator to be awarded market access in Colombia. Four years later, RSI launched gambling operations in Mexico.

“Expanding into Peru is a pivotal step in our mission to become a leading online gaming operator across the Americas,” said RSI CEO Richard Schwartz. “This move allows us to leverage our proven operational expertise in Latin America, particularly the brand equity and operational efficiencies we’ve built in the region over the past six years.”

RSI is being strategic in scaling in Latam markets. The gambling giant streamlines operations in the region by sharing marketing assets and customer service teams. RSI is sharing resources to ensure long-term growth and operational efficiency in the region.

The operator is providing unique markets to bettors in Peru, including Peruvian Liga 1.

New opportunity for Caesars

Caesars Sportsbook is also taking advantage of emerging Latam markets.

Earlier this week, the operator’s Big Brazil brand registered with Brazil’s Ministry of Finance for a federal license to operate in the country. Big Brazil requested authorization after meeting a certain set of standards set by the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets.

Big Brazil will have its application reviewed by Jan. 1, 2025. If granted a license, the operator will have to dish out roughly $5.9 million in fees for a five-year term. The Ministry of Finance has set an Aug 20. deadline for license applications with a total of five received so far.
