Major Arena Soccer League (MASL), a US-based indoor soccer competition, has partnered with ALT Sports Data as it seeks to take advantage of sports betting markets.
Becoming the official data distribution partner of the league, ALT Sports Data will help to ‘unlock new ways’ for soccer fans to engage with the sport and bring them closer to the sports betting industry.
Alt Sports Data aims to bring alternative sports to sports betting by providing sportsbooks with trading data and services, empowering them to set pre-event markets and manage in-game odds.
“As the official data partner for MASL, we will be able to add another layer to an already fast-paced and exciting league.” said Todd Ballard, CMO of ALT Sports Data. “Legal sports betting means more fans and greater engagement for MASL.”
This partnership comes at a time of rapid expansion for MASL, which recently announced Brazilian soccer legend, Ronaldinho, as a co-owner of an expansion team.
Aiming to bring a ‘fast-paced game to a global audience’, MASL’s 2022-23 season kicks off during Thanksgiving weekend and will feature 168 fixtures between now and early spring.
Soccer will be thrust into the limelight over the next month as the FIFA World Cup kicks off in Qatar on Nov 20. Sportsbooks will be looking to onboard new users during the tournament as the sport continues to grow in North America.
With the US, Canada and Mexico all featuring at the tournament, there is a significant opportunity for soccer to increase its North American fanbase, opening up the space for more formats of the game, particularly due to the three nations co-hosting the next World Cup in 2026
MASL will look to capitalize on the growing interest in soccer and this partnership with ALT Sports Data will aim to increase fan engagement with the competition.
