SharpLink Gaming has created a new free-to-play (FTP) fantasy game for the PGA Tour that will be offered during this weekend’s PGA Championship.

The 2022 PGA Championship Fantasy Game is similar to the Starting Lineup Challenge that was developed for NCAA March Madness. Users select golfers in specific categories (Past PGA Champion, over the age of 30, under the age of 30, and PGA Team of 20) to create a team that earns points to compete against others.

Golfers that didn’t make the cut can be swapped out and the game will also feature odds on everyone’s chance of winning the championship.

“We’ve been pioneering fantasy sports gaming experiences for professional leagues, teams, and sports media operators for nearly two decades, but this is our first PGA Championship, marking another notable achievement for SharpLink,” commented Rob Phythian, Co-Founder and CEO of SharpLink.

“We’re proud to partner with the PGA of America and enhance the PGA Championship experience through competitive fantasy sports. This takes user engagement to an entirely new level, promoting great fun and entertainment”

Further commercial developments have seen the Minnesota-based tech firm announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Trenfront Marketing/Poker Affiliate Solutions (PAS), has been selected by World Poker Tour Global to manage the new WPT Global affiliate program as its master affiliate.

WPT Global is a new online gaming operator that has licensed the WPT brand to market and promote its gaming platform. Meanwhile, PAS has been providing affiliate marketing services to the igaming market for nearly 20 years.

“We look forward to leveraging PAS’ award-winning reputation and longstanding relationships with traditional igaming affiliate marketers and operators to help ensure the success of WPT Global’s affiliate program,” noted Tori Roberts, Vice President, Affiliate Marketing at SharpLink.

WPT Global has a brand presence in nearly 100 countries, allowing fans and players to participate in real money games on its online platform, the largest pool of recreational players in online poker. The platform is designed for fun, fair and secure play.

Phythian added: “Central to SharpLink’s growth strategy is using advanced technologies, coupled with our team’s global industry relationships and influence, as force multipliers to empower our clients to capitalize on scalable revenue growth opportunities inherent in the online sports betting and igaming industries.

“This new partnership with WPT Global is yet another major win for SharpLink and one we expect will yield an important new revenue channel for our company in the years ahead.”
