SharpLink Gaming has developed a new free-to-play game, the Starting Lineup Challenge, for this year’s NCAA March Madness tournament as part of its 12-year partnership with the NCAA and Turner Sports.

The Starting Lineup Challenge, part of NCAA March Madness Live – the live streaming and second screen destination for the NCAA Men’s tournament – is an interactive team management game that offers fans a ‘compelling game experience’ to fulfill their March Madness itch once their bracket is busted.

The free-to-play game sees fans pick a lineup of five teams within a certain salary cap before the start of the Tournament.

Those teams then gain value by winning games and stop gaining value when they lose. Users can buy and sell teams after every round, adjust or hold teams they currently own to earn loyalty points. At the end of the Tournament, the lineup with the highest value wins.

Alongside SharpLink Gaming’s Starting Lineup Challenge, the NCAA March Madness Live service also includes a new multi-game viewing feature, the Capital One NCAA March Madness Men’s Bracket Challenge, game recaps and breakdowns via ‘The Catch Up’ and ‘Fast Break’, and all the tournament news through the Game Center.

Managed by Turner Sports in partnership with the NCAA and CBS Sports, NCAA March Madness Live is available to download across 18 mobile and connected devices including Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Xbox, Google TV, and LG Smart TVs.
