PENN Entertainment has released its 2023 Corporate Social Responsibility Report.

The entertainment and gaming giant has provided insights into its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts from last year. In 2023, PENN donated more than $8 million to support local charities and generated over $17 million in economic development grants. Its workforce spent over 9,500 hours volunteering to help underserved communities.

“I want to thank our board’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, as well as our internal ESG and Diversity Committees, for continuing to raise the bar in terms of supporting our team members, investing in our local communities, and growing our sustainability practices across our company,” said PENN CEO and President Jay Snowden. “I couldn’t be more proud of what we accomplished last year and look forward to continuing to explore ways to make an even greater impact by supporting the causes that are most important to our team members, customers, and key stakeholders.”

Last year, PENN allocated more than $750,000 toward veteran and military-focused nonprofits while establishing a military scholarship at Penn State Berks. The company also invests in education through its tuition reimbursement program, which provided over $488,000 in tuition in 2023. PENN team members also had student debut alleviated with the company’s Loan Relief Benefit Program, which connects employees with financial advisors.

PENN continuing to take care of its own

PENN is also taking steps to support women within the company.

Last year, the company launched PENN Women, an employee resource group aimed at increasing inclusivity and mentorship within its workforce. The group promotes allyship at every level while partnering with Global Gaming Women. PENN also bolstered its DEI efforts by developing a Diverse Vendor Incubator Program, which surpassed the company’s goals for 2023 by reporting a total spend of more than $108 million.

PENN operates 43 gaming properties in 20 states with market access for online sports betting in 19 jurisdictions.

The company has also emerged as a top online casino operator with a presence in five of the seven regulated iGaming markets in America. PENN also has a presence in Ontario through theScore Bet, one of Canada’s top sports betting platforms.
