A daily fantasy sports technology platform is diversifying its offerings with a new vertical.
Locker Live Inc. has announced the launch of Leagues, a new vertical that allows users to create and host custom groups on the company’s proprietary trivia-style DFS platform. Locker has launched the new vertical after closing a $2 million seed round earlier this year led by Hatchery Investments. Locker raised the fresh capital to develop and launch its new Leagues vertical, which is available for this season’s weekly NFL matchups.
“The introduction of Leagues is not only a game-changer for Locker, it’s a legitimate needle-mover for the entire online gaming ecosystem,” said Locker co-founder and CEO Noah Bernstein. “Our technology has made it possible for literally anyone—from the commissioner of a small fantasy football league to a local bar owner to a micro-influencer or higher-profile creator with an existing audience to a leading sports media brand—to create and host their own customized Locker League on our app.”
Locker has partnered with some of the biggest names in DFS to promote Leagues. The company has secured deals with RotoWire, FantasyPros, League Alerts and The 33rd Team. Each of its partners are set to host a co-branded and customized League for NFL.
Last year, Locker debuted its LiveFantasy Games app. The app provides users with access to the company’s myriad of contests for NFL action. Locker’s pay-to-play contests and new Leagues offering are available in more than 15 regulated U.S. markets. The markets include Alaska, California, Mississippi, Oregon, Texas, South Carolina and Utah.
