Gentoo Media, formerly Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), has confirmed its rebrand to Gentoo Media Inc. has been ratified by its shareholders.
In a release, Gentoo confirmed it has officially begun life under its new official name after the rebrand received approval in a shareholder meeting this week. The rebrand of the GiG Media division had been announced back in June.
The name change is a big step towards completing a legal split of the company that will create two independently listed businesses, said Gentoo.
The platform and sportsbook division of GiG will be spun off to operate as an independently listed company under the name GiG Software PLC. The split is expected to be completed on Sept. 30.
Gentoo Media Inc. continues its dual-listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange with the ticker symbol G2MNO and on Nasdaq Stockholm with the ticker symbol G2M from Sept. 25.
GiG has been exploring a restructuring process since a strategic review of the company began back in February 2023.
