A daily fantasy sports provider is aiming to appeal to women sports fans with a new product.
Fanball has launched a new DFS game, Fanball Winners by Erin Andrews, as the NFL season heats up. The contest, available on the Google Play and App stores, is a pick’em-style contest that allows users to create a lineup from three different players in a position group. Users select the quarterback, wide receiver and running back they believe will score the highest the most fantasy points for a chance at a portion of the guaranteed prize pool.
Fanball Winners, operated by SportsHub Games Network, was unveiled with the help of FOX’s Erin Andrews who believes the game reaches underserved fans, particularly women.
“We’ve clearly entered a game-changing era for sports, with female game attendance, viewership, and ratings results shattering all-time records,” said Andrews. “Playing fantasy football has historically been dominated by die hard sports fans, and Fanball Winners has introduced a game concept that caters to the next generation of sports fans.”
Fanball operates in over 35 markets across North America, including Washington, D.C.
Perfect timing for Fanball
Fanball is aiming to capitalize on a fantasy sports market that is continuing to surge.
According to data provided by SkyQuest Technology, the fantasy sports market is projected to reach $87 billion by 2031, up from a value of approximately $31 billion in 2023. In 2031, women are expected to make up 37% of all participants in fantasy sports.
A study by the North American Society for Sport Management found that women are the fastest-growing demographic for DFS.
