Bally’s Corporation has joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) as it looks to build upon its commitment to integrity and player protection.
IBIA is a not-for-profit body that is run by operators for operators to protect regulated sports betting markets from match-fixing. Its global monitoring network detects and reports suspicious activity in regulated betting markets, such as the high-profile case of banned NBA player Jontay Porter this year.
Bally’s CEO Robeson Reeves said that IBIA membership, “aligns with our commitment to provide a safe and secure betting environment for our customers.
“As we continue to expand our footprint globally, we look forward to contributing to IBIA’s mission of upholding the integrity of sports betting worldwide,” Reeves added.
“Bally’s is a major U.S. and growing international gambling company and is another great addition to our rapidly expanding international membership base,” added Khalid Ali, CEO of IBIA. “It will help us to further broaden the scope of our world-leading betting integrity monitoring network and we look forward to working closely with Bally’s to safeguard its customers and sportsbook from betting-related corruption.”
Bally’s joins more than 50 companies and 125 sports betting brands on IBIA’s membership roster. IBIA members generate over $300 billion per annum in betting handle, accounting for more than 50% of the regulated commercial online sports betting sector globally.
Its Q2 2024 report detailed 90 alerts during the quarter. Last year, IBIA alerts contributed to the investigations and sanctioning of 21 clubs, players and officials.
Bally reaffirms RG commitments as U.S. operations grow
Bally’s has access to online sports betting licenses in 18 U.S. and has taken steps into new territories in recent weeks.
In July alone, its Bally Bet sportsbook has entered the Massachusetts market and the Maryland market. It is now available in nine states but has struggled to gain a significant foothold in the U.S.
As it continues to grow, it has reaffirmed its commitment to responsible gambling and player protection. IBIA membership follows it joining the Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA) in June to become the eighth member of the independent responsible gambling trade association.
Bally’s joins bet365, BetMGM, DraftKings, Fanatics Betting and Gaming, FanDuel, Hard Rock Digital and PENN Entertainment.
