Scientific Games has appointed Mike Cardell as the company’s Senior Vice President of Americas Systems.

He will be tasked with leading all aspects of the company’s Americas lottery system business.

According to the lottery and gaming technology developer, this includes expanding product offerings, driving incremental revenue, and nurturing existing client relationships.

“With a keen understanding of developing strategies for sustainable growth, Mike will be instrumental in growing our systems business and ensuring innovation and operational excellence in our existing system operations. His strategic mindset and leadership experience make him a valuable addition to Scientific Games. We are excited to welcome him to our team,” explained Scientific Games President, Americas and Global Instant Products John Schulz.

Cardell has spent over 17 years working in business technology and the company says that he has a proven track record in innovating technology-based products and services.

Before joining Scientific Games, he spent 11 years at Fiserv where he most recently served as the fintech company’s Vice President and General Manager of Next Gen Solutions. Before this, he also spent five years managing business development and marketing for Hewlett Packard.

Scientific Games serves 150 different lotteries across 50 countries. The company says it boasts the largest portfolio of licensed brands in the industry.

Scientific Games bolsters stable of partners

After launching the Scientific Games’ iLottery hub in October 2023, the company has spent the beginning of 2024 adding to its stable of partners.

In February it signed up Bwloto and Random State before adding Multiplay Gaming in March. Last month the Bulgaria-based studio 7777 gaming became Scientific Games’ ninth iLottery studio partner.

Founded in 2020, 7777 offers a variety of online casino games, iLottery, jackpot, and marketing solutions.

“The SG Content Hub Partner Program is developing at pace as we continue to provide our customers with frictionless access to the very best content in the industry,” said Scientific Games VP of Digital Games Steve Hickson at the time of the announcement.

The content hub enables partners to work with licensed brands within the Scientific Games portfolio and manage a game library from a single spot. The hub includes brands such as Game of Thrones and Monopoly.
