Simplebet has enjoyed a record-breaking Super Bowl weekend, with an 84% increase in micro-betting handle on the Big Game.

The firm noted that the dramatic increase in the demand for micro-betting was felt across all 24 US states in which it is active.

Sunday’s game, which saw the Kansas City Chiefs triumph over Philadelphia Eagles, also saw a 79% uptick from the handle at the AFC Championships and a 186% in handle on the NFC Championship.

Simplebet took over 3.7 million bets throughout the NFL post-season period, up 150% on the NFL post-season 2022.

Breaking down some of the popular micro-bets, over $3.5m was wagered on the ‘Drive Result Exact’ betting market by the halfway stage of the games following a high-scoring first half.

Moreover, over $1m was wagered on the last Chiefs drive which led to the go-ahead field goal. The dramatic nature of the game, Simplebet states, helped to fuel betting activity on the game.

Chris Bevilacqua, Co-Founder and CEO of Simplebet, commented: “It has been an NFL season full of highlights for us, and the Super Bowl ended with a bang as we saw record-setting numbers across the board.

“The big game saw some exceptional performances on the field, and bettors retained their interest throughout, as we continued to see the desire for wagers and instant gratification on key drives, rather than traditional pre-match lines.

“Our football product continues to go from strength to strength, and it was another landmark year for us across both college and professional football.”
