Sportsbook provider Kambi has promoted Cecilia Wachtmeister to the role of Chief Commercial Officer.

Wachtmeister’s previous position in Kambi was EVP of Business and Group Functions, a position she held since 2019. She is also part of the company’s executive management team and has also served on its board from 2017 to 2019.

Before joining Kambi, Wachtmeister held several senior management roles at telecommunications firm Ericsson AB for 25 years, including in business development, sales, and strategy.

“With a market-leading product and partner-first focus, it’s no surprise Kambi has enjoyed great success in recent years,” commented Wachtmeister on her new role.

“Even though we are on a steep growth trajectory, we’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s possible which is why I’m looking forward to working with my talented commercial team to ensure Kambi can capitalize on the many exciting opportunities that lay ahead.

In her new role at Kambi, Wachtmeister will lead a commercial team that has been strengthened with the promotions of Sarah Robertson, Jamie McKittrick, and Veena Dhesi to SVP of Sales, SVP of Commercial Operations, and SVP of Partner Success respectively.

Dhesi joined Kambi in 2021 from Gartner, a corporate research and advisory firm. She spent more than eight years there, with her most recent position being Director of Sales Growth Programs.

Robertson brings more than 10 years of industry experience to her new role, while McKittrick joined the firm last year from B2C operator Entain where he was Group Head of Commercial, bringing more than two decades of sports betting expertise.

Kambi has already made two significant North American deals in 2022, entering into a multi-year sportsbook partnership with MaximBet of Carousel Group, as well as striking a long-term partnership with Canadian operator NorthStar Gaming Inc.

“It has already been a busy start to the year with the signings of MaximBet and NorthStar Gaming and I am confident we have the right team and product in place to build on this success in 2022 and beyond,” added Wachtmeister.
