Former Light & Wonder iGaming CEO Dylan Slaney will be the new chief executive of Aristocrat Interactive.

Aristocrat’s iGaming company announced on Sept. 12 that its current CEO, Moti Malul, has stepped down from his role and will leave the company entirely in March 2026. Malul has been in the CEO role since he joined the business via its acquisition of NeoGames in April 2024. He had been at NeoGames for almost 17 years, serving as VP of sales and business development and as CEO from 2018.

Aristocrat Interactive was formed upon that acquisition. The business brought together various brands including Anaxi, NeoGames, Aspire GlobalBtoBet and Pariplay under one roof, and also consists of separate arms: iLottery, Content & Aggregation, Gaming Systems, iGaming & Sports, and iGaming White-Label.

From November of this year, the company will be led by Slaney, who left his role as Light & Wonder’s iGaming chief last November.

Slaney had been with L&W for more than seven years. Previously, he served as executive vice president of gaming for NYX Gaming Group before it was acquired by Light & Wonder, then known as Scientific Games, in 2018. He was named senior president of gaming at the new Scientific Games Digital division, which became Light & Wonder iGaming under a 2022 rebrand.

At Aristocrat, he will report directly to the Australian company’s CEO and Managing Director Trevor Croker.

“Dylan’s deep igaming experience and track record of operational delivery will help us accelerate momentum in Aristocrat Interactive, including building on our market-leading position in iLottery, in line with our strategy,” said Croker in a statement. “I want to express my thanks to Moti for his leadership through a period in which we brought together multiple teams to create Aristocrat Interactive, put in place an ambitious group growth plan and took foundational steps towards its delivery.”

Other leadership changes

The change of CEO is the biggest leadership news at Aristocrat Interactive, but it’s not the only personnel shift at Aristocrat.

The iGaming firm’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Natalie Toohey has stepped down after seven years in her role, and Barry French has been appointed to succeed her with immediate effect in the expanded role of chief corporate affairs and marketing officer.

“I am delighted to welcome leaders of the caliber of Dylan and Barry to the Aristocrat executive team,” added Croker. “Both are values-led leaders with collaborative and customer-centric mindsets. I also look forward to Barry further building our reputation and stakeholder relationships, while forging a global Marketing function to better steward our brands and unlock more strategic benefits.”

Slaney will be based in London, England, while French will be based in Las Vegas.

The reshuffle comes as Aristocrat Interactive continues to expand its U.S. operations.

Last month, the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission (MSLC) awarded the supplier the state’s iLottery contract. When Massachusetts launches its first state online lottery next year, Aristocrat Interactive will provide a full-service online lottery platform, game content including eInstants and draw games, player account management systems and an aggregation platform for third-party game content.

The supplier and the regulator will also work together on marketing and promotion, player promotions, compliance and responsible gaming.
