Caesars has become the third commercial sportsbook to offer sports betting in Oregon.

The new Caesars Sportsbook at Ko-Kwel Casino Resort accepted its first wager this week, on the 30th anniversary of the property. Caesars can offer sports betting at the venue thanks to a partnership with the Coquille Indian Tribe.

“Bringing our sports wagering offering to a new jurisdiction for the first time is always significant, and we know offering our expansive menu of sports wagering markets will undoubtedly enhance the exceptional experience that the Coquille Indian Tribe provides to its guests,” said said Eric Hession, president of Caesars Digital.

The launch makes Caesars the third national sports betting brand with a presence in Oregon. BetMGM offers limited online and full retail sports betting at Spirit Mountain Casino, while DraftKings enjoys a status as the state’s only full-service licensed online sportsbook via a partnership with the Oregon Lottery.

“We are proud to have this iconic gaming brand join us, as both brands have represented excellence in the industry for decades,” said Margaret Simpson, CEO of the Coquille Economic Development Corporation. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to advancing gaming opportunities and enhancing guest satisfaction.”

The physical Caesars Sportsbook allows patrons to bet on a wide variety of markets, including moneylines, player props, futures and a range of live betting options. College sports betting is restricted to retail locations, meaning Caesars and BetMGM can offer college sports wagering markets in the state that DraftKings cannot. College player props are not allowed even as part of the retail suite.

Caesars expanding on all fronts

The Oregon entry is the latest notable step for Caesars across its various gaming verticals.

Last November, it began operating self-service betting kiosks at local retail businesses across D.C., the only sportsbook authorized to do so after it was granted exclusivity by the Office of Lottery and Gaming.

In January, it launched a Caesars-branded live dealer studio in Philadelphia. The Pennysylvania studio serves as the home base for live dealer games for Caesars Sportsbook & Casino, Horseshoe Online Casino and Caesars Palace Online Casino.

This spring, it took two notable steps on the digital front.

First, its World Series of Poker (WSOP) brand became the first online poker operator to pool play across four U.S. states. WSOP added Pennsylvania poker players to its pooling on that statese state’s first day as part of the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA).

Two weeks later, Caesars released its first in-house developed online casino game via its developing collaboration with Bragg Gaming Group.
