BetMGM is partnering with an emerging professional poker player to expand its reach.

The sports betting and iGaming operator has announced an exclusive partnership with Abby Merk making the pro poker player and content creator a BetMGM Poker ambassador.

As part of the pact, Merk will play in select in-person poker events while creating content for BetMGM’s social media channels. Merk has joined BetMGM as a brand ambassador after being named the Rising Star in Content Creation at the Global Poker Awards last month.

“Abby Merk’s winning personality and love of poker reflect the type of excitement we are building in the poker community,” said BetMGM Chief Marketing Officer Casey Hurbis in a statement. “She is a fantastic addition to our stable of ambassadors and we look for her to build on her strong connection with her audience with her authentic style of storytelling.”

The 24-year-old Chicago resident will bring her talents to select in-person poker events at MGM Resorts International properties. Merk will be helping promote a BetMGM Poker gaming experience that has been enhanced with app upgrades and increased marketing.

Last November, BetMGM merged its player pools in New Jersey and Michigan allowing the operator to deliver more action to players while further integrating its entire portfolio.

BetMGM strengths online casino marketing

Merk has joined BetMGM as the operator bolsters its online casino marketing efforts.

Earlier this month, BetMGM brand ambassador Jamie Foxx debuted the operator’s first online casino commercial, Vegas Lights. The 30-second TV spot focuses on MGM Resorts’ rewards program, which is integrated into the BetMGM app. The rewards program provides players with gaming and hospitality experiences at MGM Resort’s portfolio of properties.

BetMGM is airing the commercial in its five licensed North American iGaming markets. The markets are Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ontario and West Virginia.
