Daily fantasy sports giant PrizePicks is the first DFS operator to receive Internet Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP) accreditation from the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG).
iCAP certification is granted to operators that meet the NCPG’s standards for responsible gaming and consumer protection practices.
The process involves an independent, comprehensive review of an operator’s responsible gaming policies and practices, including considerations such as Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols, staff training programs, work culture, consumer protection measures, RG tool offerings, customer service standards and regulatory compliance.
PrizePicks CEO Mike Ybarra called the certification “powerful recognition” of the company’s operations and “an incredible honor that underscores our unwavering commitment to putting player safety first.”
“I want to extend my sincere thanks to the NCPG for their thorough evaluation, and to our exceptional team for setting the bar as an industry leader in responsible gaming,” he added.
“We are proud to recognize PrizePicks as the first daily fantasy sports operator to receive iCAP accreditation,” said the NCPG’s Director of Programs Jaime D. Costello. “This achievement highlights their unwavering commitment to player protection and promoting positive play, setting a new benchmark for excellence in the industry.”
Atlanta-headquartered PrizePicks offers at least some of its products in 45 U.S. states as well as Washington, D.C., and in Canada outside Ontario. Its most widespread product is its Pick’Em contest.
It also offers an Arena peer-to-peer version of Pick’Em, which launched in Delaware and Missouri last October to bring that product’s reach to 16 U.S. jurisdictions. PrizePicks also now offers a new free-to-play contest, Streak, which allows fans to compete for an opportunity to pocket up to $1 million by picking one player projection per day to build a series of consecutive winning picks.
The company’s iCAP certification adds to its responsible gaming-focused operations which also include partnership with gambling harm consultancy EPIC Global Solutions and collaborations with Kindbridge Behavioral Health, Xpoint and IC360.
