Sportsbook affiliate partner Betting Hero has reached a significant milestone, as it has delivered its 500,000th bettor to the U.S. sports betting ecosystem.

The operator announced that it has reached this milestone on the back of its recent entry into the North Carolina market following the launch of online sports betting in the state.

“The excitement from the first few days of legalized betting has been amazing to see, not only from the sports fan perspective but also from the operators, sports teams, leagues, and sports bars in North Carolina. Our Betting Heroes have been busy helping new customers across the state since the launch and are quickly adding to our 500,000 total. If the first week of legal sports betting is any indication of the potential here, the Tar Heel State is going to be one to watch,” said Betting Hero COO Jeff Gajewski

According to Betting Hero, it has been at the forefront of creating new betting audiences across the regulated U.S. states since the repeal of PASPA and the company has grown a record 25% since 2023, delivering over 110,000 new bettors to affiliated operators last year.

It is live in 20 regulated sports betting states with in-person customer acquisition through Betting Hero Live Activation and also offers insights and research through its Betting Hero Research Division.

“We are proud to represent their voice throughout the industry and believe in the power of consumer-led innovation being the key to long-term success. Delivering our 500,000th customer following a successful launch in North Carolina is just icing on the cake as far as we’re concerned. The millions of customer interactions we have had over the years is what has allowed us to reach this milestone so quickly, and we’re excited to exceed that pace as we work towards delivering another 500,000 customers in the years to come,” added Betting Hero Founder and President Jai Maw.

The North Carolina online sports betting market opened on March 11 and is home to eight online sportsbooks.

Bet365, BetMGM, DraftKings, ESPN Bet, Fanatics Sportsbook, FanDuel and Underdog all received approval from the North Carolina State Lottery Commission to operate in the Tar Heel State.
