PrizePicks is expanding its reach with a new partnership with an NHL franchise.

The daily fantasy sports operator has secured a pact with the Dallas Stars, which includes marketing on local telecasts of team games and the delivery of special VIP experiences.

The partnership marks the first official deal for PrizePicks with an NHL franchise.

“We are thrilled to further establish the PrizePicks brand alongside a great franchise like the Dallas Stars,” said PrizePicks CEO and Co-founder Adam Wexler. “Texas is one of our most highly engaged markets, and hockey is one of our fastest growing segments. This partnership will accelerate our ability to enhance the gameday experience for fans.

As part of the pact, PrizePicks will advertise via commercials and will also have a digital presence on the boards of the American Airlines Center, the Stars’ home ice since 2001.

The Stars are ranked No. 1 in the Western Conference standings with a 34-15-8 record. The team has accumulated 76 points so far this 2023-24 NHL season, trailing only behind the Eastern Conference’s Vancouver Canucks who have 80 points behind a 37-15-6 record.

Owned by Canadian hospitality executive Tom Gaglardi, the Stars are worth an estimated $1.08 billion, according to Forbes.

PrizePicks building a portfolio of partners

Earlier this month, the DFS operator landed a marketing partnership with the Stephen A. Smith Show. The deal made PrizePicks the program’s exclusive DFS partner.

PrizePicks has dedicated segments on the Stephen A. Smith Show as part of the agreement and also sees exclusive content shared across various social media channels. The Stephen A. Smith Show, which covers sports, entertainment, and pop culture, will have guest interviews with PrizePicks influencers and the two entities will also collaborate at events.
