As Catena Media narrows its focus on the North American market, it is bringing aboard a new fire to focus specifically on developing a plan for growing the organization.

This week, Catena Media announced it will be bringing Pierre Cadena on board as the Vice President of Corporate Strategy. Cadena comes from a year with FOX Entertainment as the SVP and Head of Revenue and Strategy for the gossip brand TMZ. Prior to that, he worked with Crunchyroll, an entertainment company focused on anime.

While his most recent gig was in the entertainment space, Cadena has a long history of experience in the gaming space. He spent five years with Caesars as the VP of Strategy and Corporate Development for Caesars Interactive.

Cadena also brings direct experience from the affiliate space. He is currently a board member for European affiliate Raketech.

“We’re excited to welcome Pierre to Catena Media. His extensive expertise in strategic planning and executing growth for digital media and gaming companies will be a valuable asset for us and enable Pierre to play a core leadership role in our continued evolution in North America and beyond,” said Catena Media CEO Michael Daly.

In the job posting for the position, the role was described as focused on driving growth and developing a standardized business case methodology for evaluating new opportunities for the company.

The company has recently divested from its European arm of the business and conducted some strategic reductions related to streamlining the company’s shared services.

On the North American side, the company has signed some US-focused content partnerships in the past year, including a recent deal with The Sporting News.
