Inspired Entertainment has confirmed the appointment of Ian Freeman as its new Chief Commercial Officer of Virtuals.

Starting his new role on November 16, Freeman replaces long-term incumbent Steve Rogers who has departed the firm after a 25-year stint with the company.

Brooks Pierce, CEO of Inspired, stated: “I would like to thank Steve for his many contributions to the company over the years. He has been a big part of our success. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Stepping into the commercial executive duties, Freeman will be charged with the innovation, delivery, and growth of Inspired’s virtual sports products.

Inspired’s virtual sports unit has a strong US presence having recently signed a deal with the NBA to produce official league-branded basketball virtual games to operators across the US.

In his career, Freeman – who has over 20 years of sports betting and igaming experience – has served as Chief Revenue Officer at FSBTech, where he focused on driving customer acquisition and retention as well as revenue growth and expansion.

Prior to this, he was VP of Global Business Development at IGT PlayDigital, where he played a key role in launching PlaySports across North America, while growing the online casino offering for the firm.

Freeman also spent five years at Kambi where he was Chief Commercial Officer, during which he helped the firm through its IPO.

Pierce added: “Ian’s extensive background in the sports betting industry, including leadership roles at Kambi, IGT, and FSBTech as Chief Revenue Officer, is invaluable to our team.

“With a proven track record in commercial, operational, and technical areas, Ian brings the perfect balance of capabilities needed to elevate our Virtual Sports business to the next level. Virtual Sports is a key driver of the growth strategy of Inspired and we are excited to add Ian to this key leadership role.”
