As NFL kickoff draws nearer, sportsbooks are rolling out their big promotional offers for the season.

Fanatics Sportsbook is trying to make a big splash in its first football season by leveraging what it is best known for–sports merchandise.

The Fanatics Jersey Drop promotion rewards new bettors who place a $50 wager on any market with a promotional credit of $150 to spend on team merchandise of your choice. The promotion is open to both Fanatics Sportsbook and PointsBet, a Fanatics Experience. As noted last week, several states are rebranding the existing PointsBet product for a time before switching over to the Fanatics platform.

While the promotion coincides with football season, the promotion can be used on any sport or league merchandise available on Fanatics.com.

“Fanatics Betting and Gaming is bringing a more rewarding online sports betting experience to customers to celebrate the return of football season,” said Jason White, CMO of Fanatics Betting and Gaming. “We want to outfit our customers in the latest team gear for betting with us on the Fanatics or PointsBet Sportsbooks.  It’s sign up, suit up, and get the Fanatics experience.”

Earlier this year, Fanatics drew the attention of Ohio regulators with an offer giving free bets to people buying merchandise from Fanatics. The promotion ran afoul of responsible gambling regulations.

However, this promotion is fundamentally different, as it is rewarding bettors with merchandise not inducing those buying merchandise to sign up for a betting account.

This is also not the first time a promotion has rewarded bettors with jerseys. Caesars Sportsbook offered a similar promotion in 2021 where bettors who wagered $100 on the NFL received an NFL jersey.
