Betway has confirmed that former tennis world number one and US Open champion Andy Roddick has joined its global ambassador portfolio.

Roddick, who was the US number one in the 2000s, will become the face of Betway’s tennis betting activity and will offer insights and analysis of the latest action.

As part of the deal, Roddick will write a column for each of the biggest tennis competitions including this year’s final grand slam US Open which will be hosted on the Betway Insider editorial hub.

Roddick commented on the partnership: “I’m delighted to be joining one of the world’s biggest betting brands and look forward to helping the tennis community with valuable insights as we approach some of the biggest global tournaments, particularly with the US Open on the horizon.”

The 2003 US Open champion was a finalist on four other occasions where he lost to Roger Federer. Playing through an era dominated by the Swiss great as well as the emerging Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic into the late 2000s, Roddick was lauded for his efforts and was inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame in 2017.

Since his retirement in 2012, Roddick has established himself as a mainstay of the punditry scene, providing coverage for broadcasters such as Fox Sports, the BBC and the Tennis Channel

He joins other Betway ambassadors including former Premier League and LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane and former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen in promoting the sportsbook across its global markets.

The move comes as Betway is set to launch a tennis-specific platform titled ‘Advantage, Served, which aims to offer insight to tennis fans worldwide.

Anthony Werkman, CEO of Betway, said: “It’s great to welcome Andy Roddick to our team of global ambassadors. Andy is a household name within tennis and his opinion and insight is going to be hugely valuable to readers of his column.

“Andy joins at an important time as we are also launching our new platform, ‘Advantage, Served’. As we know, our customers are driven by data and statistics and our new platform will offer cutting edge insights that will enhance the match experience to loyal tennis fans.”
