Century Casinos completes $100m Nugget Casino Resort takeover to enter Nevada

Century Casinos has completed its acquisition of the Nugget Casino Resort in Nevada from Marnell Gaming in a deal worth around $100m. 

Located in Sparks, Nevada, Nugget Casino Resort boasts a gaming floor, with 71,200 square feet of casino space, 892 slot machines, 29 table games, 1,382 hotel rooms, and five dining venues.

Century Casinos previously purchased 50% of the membership interests in Smooth Bourbon, the company which owns the building that Nugget Casino operates within. 

Now the acquisition is complete, Nugget and Smooth Bourbon now have a lease agreement for the land and building for an annual rent of $15m.

This deal takes Century Casino’s gaming portfolio to 128 casinos globally, with a total of 6,955 gaming machines, 249 table games and over 3,100 full-time equivalent employees.

The Company explained that, including the Nugget’s financial figures, net operating revenue and adjusted EBITDA for the year would have been $529.6m and $129.9m, respectively.
