SIS (Sports Information Services) has agreed to sponsor a handicap race on El Derby Day in Chile, broadening its presence in Latin America.

Taking place at Valparaíso Sporting Club in Viña del Mar on Feb. 5, the undercard handicap race before the Clásico El Derby will feature the SIS name, bolstering the betting services provider’s established partnership with the oldest track in Latin America.

Featuring 30 races with attendances of over 150,000, El Derby is Chile’s main Group One classic race and is the third and final race of the country’s National Triple Crown following the El Ensayo and St Leger Clásicos

“El Derby brings together the very best of Chilean racing and the community for a day of celebration and it is key for us to form partnerships that allow the event to be successful,” commented Hernán Robles, Commercial Manager at Valparaiso Sporting Club.

“SIS is a highly valued partner and we are delighted to have their support to make the day special for all our stakeholders.”

SIS’ sponsorship of the El Derby in Chile follows similar deals in other Latin American countries such as Hipódromo Maroñas in Uruguay and Hipódromo Palermo in Argentina, highlighting the company’s commitment to supporting racing in the region.

Delivering international racing content to clients via SIS 24/7 Live Betting services, SIS now covers more than 35,000 live horse racing events each year, including premium races from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Uruguay.

SIS’ offering is “an end-to-end solution with round-the-clock betting events incorporating live streamed pictures, data, on-screen graphics with betting triggers, and an extensive range of markets and prices.”

Michele Fischer, Vice President at SIS Content Services, added: “El Derby day is a unique national Chilean event and it’s fantastic to be able to play our part in its success with this sponsorship agreement.

“We have a well-established partnership with Valparaiso Sporting Club. Our commitment to racing in Latin America is well-documented and it is a region that continues to be of strategic importance for our business.”
