Fifth Street Gaming has bolstered its efforts in its mission to provide for the Latino and Hispanic communities in the US through the unveiling of its JefeBet Podcast Network.
JefeBet Podcast Network set to grow hispanic reach
Consisting of both live and pre-recorded podcasts, JefeBet Podcast Network will see the creator network expand from five to 15 and will produce shows exclusively in Spanish to cover fantasy sports, sports betting and general gambling.
FSG also notes that the podcast network will celebrate Latino culture, lifestyle and entertainment and, as such, features personalities such as Alex Stergios, Francisco X Rivera, Majo Montemayor, comedian Mike Ruga, former baseball player Ozzie Guillén and Mexican YouTube creator, Ivansfull.
“The talent lineup we have signed for our expanding JefeBet Podcast Network is truly exceptional,” said Matthew Chambers, VP, Content at FSG Digital.
“With their collective reach of over four million engaged followers across social channels, and paired with JefeBet’s own fast-growing digital footprint, we’re building the best and most influential network of Spanish-first content for the 64 million Hispanic and Latinos in the US and millions abroad.”
Jefebet was first introduced in March and set out to provide ‘valuable and proprietary media content for the Latino community in the US’.
The venture aims to deliver various multi-media outputs through strategic partnerships and has been supported by investors such as Greentube, Benjie Cherniak, Bill Powell, Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, Oakvale Capital, Stephen Jurgella, Andrew Costello, and Javier Vargas.
Creating ‘really cool things’
Speaking on the SBC Leaders podcast earlier this year at the time of launch, Seth Young, FSG’s Chief Strategy Officer, noted that the firm has built a strong team in the LatAm region to create ‘really cool things’.
He told SBC: “There are about 63 million in the US that identify as Latino, 12 million that speak Spanish as their first language, and almost nothing geared towards them for gambling and entertainment content.
“We embarked upon a brand build and a multi-product strategy to do some really cool things and really do it authentically. We’ve hired well, mostly in LatAm and South America, a lot of folk down in Argentina.”
All angles covered
JefeBet Podcast Network has initially rolled out five podcasts geared towards the Hispanic community in the US, focusing on different sports and gambling topics.
El Reporte Jefe will focus on boxing and fighting; Titulares con Alex features Alex Stergios and covers sports, lifestyle and entertainment; El Mundo de Guillén focuses on MLB; Fútbol Premier covers European soccer and Dimelo features JRod and Ozzle Jr and will focus on sports picks and gambling.
JefeBet ambassador and former baseball player, Ozzie Guillen, added: “JefeBet is creating a bridge between Latinos, sports, and gambling. Love us or hate us you will always be entertained.
“Our goal is to voice our opinions and analyze players and games from our experiences in life. We are very happy to be part of the JefeBet growth and story.”
“I am very proud and happy to be part of the JefeBet team,” concluded Stergios, host of Titulares con Alex. “I have had the opportunity to produce content for JefeBet since its launch, and both the public reception and growth have been amazing.
“I am certain that it will continue to grow day by day and be considered one of the best sports and lifestyle digital platforms.”
