Sportradar has bolstered its North American team, appointing Eric Conrad as its new Managing Director of Strategic Partnerships & Content for North America.

Reporting to Chief Commercial Officer, Eduard Blonk, Conrad will direct Sportradar’s US Sports Content and Partnerships (SCP) team, which has secured critical partnerships over the last several years including with the NHL, MLB, and the NBA.

An accomplished sports media executive with over 20 years of transactional sports rights experience, Conrad will also work closely with the firm’s media and betting partners to maximize commercial returns and seek new partnerships to drive consistent and continued growth.

“Eric joins Sportradar at a time of rapid growth for the North American market,” Blonk said on Conrad’s appointment into the newly created role.

“Eric has the leadership track record and experience we believe are critical to lead the regional SCP team, including the ability to forge additional partnerships, a strong focus on value creation with the sports fan in the center and a focus on delivering value to our customers.”

Before joining Sportradar, Conrad previously served as the Executive Vice President of Sports Programming and Acquisitions at Univision. Here, he was responsible for building the firm’s sports rights portfolio by securing partnerships with the likes of FIFA, UEFA, Concacaf, Conmebol, and MLS, among others.

Conrad has also held roles within ESPN’s Programming and Acquisition team and in the media rights and sponsorship sales teams of the NBA and MLB.

Sportradar also recently appointed Michael Gandolfo as its North America Group Head of Regional Sales.
