Caesars Entertainment has formalized a first-of-its-kind sponsorship deal with Major League Soccer team DC United

Under the terms of the deal, players will wear the new “Caesars Sports” logo on team jersey sleeves for both home and away matches. It is the first partnership to enable a casino company to display its logo on an MLS jersey.

In a statement from Caesars, Chief Marketing Officer Chris Holdren explained that the partnership represents another step in the firm’s efforts to become a leader in sports.

The partnership also includes game-day activations at the team’s Audi Field stadium with promotional giveaways, LED signage, special match moments and the availability of suites at home games and stadium events.

DC United Co-Chairman Jason Levien stated: “Partnering with Caesars provides us with a great opportunity to realize the dream of Audi Field being a year-round hub of entertainment and activity and is another strong indication that global brands continue to see value in partnering with our organization.”
