Mexican gambling operator Corporación Caliente, part of Grupo Codere España, has revealed that it will upgrade its entire sports betting estate with the introduction of systems and terminals supplied by omni-channel sports betting technology specialist Playtech BGT. Agreeing on new terms, Caliente will move to launch Playtech BGT self-service betting terminals (SSBTs) across its estates and premises.

Both firms already enjoy a four-year working relationship, with Playtech having acted as lead casino systems supplier for Caliente since 2014. The new agreement sees the partnership expand its omni-channel dynamics, adding sports betting services to Caliente’s inventory.

Armin Sageder, CEO, Playtech BGT Sports, said: “Our partnership with Caliente has gone from strength to strength and we continue to experience significant growth. The extension of our relationship into Retail reflects the success we have achieved to date and the opportunities we both see lying ahead. Mexico is a fast-growing, regulated market and a strategically important territory for Playtech.”

The initial SSBT roll-out will cover a dozen Caliente casino properties, representing a significant LatAm expansion for the FTSE technology group.

Victor De La Fuente, business development director at Caliente, added: “This is an exciting moment for Caliente as we further develop the experience we offer those who visit our casinos. We are continually looking for ways to improve customer engagement and this represents the latest development as part of this strategy.”
