With anticipated record attendance, including more than three dozen legislators from a record 19 states, the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States is providing attendees with nearby overflow hotel options for the Summer Meeting, which takes place July 13-15 in Cleveland.

The optional hotel information – as well as conference registration – is available at http://www.nclgs.org/meetings.html.

“The large turnout for our Summer Meeting is a testament to both the intense interest in legalising sports betting across the country and to the outstanding conference programme we have prepared,” said NCLGS officer Jennifer Benson, a representative from Massachusetts.

The three-day NCLGS Summer Meeting will include a keynote address from Casey Schwab, vice president, business & legal affairs for the National Football League Players Association with six legislative committee sessions. These comprise Casinos, Emerging Forms of Gaming, Lotteries, Pari-Mutuels, Responsible Gaming, and State-Federal Relations.

Additionally, there will be two master classes presented by the International Masters of Gaming Law, a special general session panel examining the economic impacts of gaming and a Saturday afternoon tour of Intralot‘s facility serving the Ohio Lottery.

NCLGS is the only organisation of state lawmakers that meets on a regular basis to discuss issues relating to gaming. Members  serve as chairpersons or members of state legislative committees responsible for the regulation of gaming in their state legislative houses. It does not promote or oppose gaming but is primarily concerned with the regulation and economic and social impacts of the industry.

Spectrum Gaming Group, which has performed advisory and consulting work for gaming operators, regulators and legislatures in 36 US states and territories and in 47 countries on six continents, serves as the executive director of NCLGS.
