As Brazil establishes itself among the world’s leading regulated gaming markets, SBC Summit Rio 2026 will focus on what may lie in store for the country’s next phase of development.
Taking place at Riocentro March 3-5, the annual summit’s third edition will bring together operators, suppliers, regulators and affiliates to discuss how the industry can adapt to new regulations, harness technological innovation and drive sustainable growth across Brazil’s sports betting and iGaming landscape.
With content spanning three stages, the conference agenda will explore the key themes of Brazil’s regulated market as it enters its second year, from leadership and regulatory shifts to advances in technology and payments and the evolving role of affiliates in a changing industry.
“As Brazil’s market evolves, so must the conversations that drive it, so this year’s event is all about progress,” said SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark. “We’ve built the agenda to reflect the huge strides the country has made in just a year, but also to highlight how those in the room can overcome challenges, whether from a compliance perspective, an overall financial sustainability perspective, or when it comes to growing confidently in this relatively new environment. There is still a lot of exploring to do on the educational side of things.”
Leaders give high-level overview
The Leadership Stage will gather senior executives, regulators and investors to examine how Brazil’s evolving regulatory framework is shaping the industry in the country. Discussions will address proposed operator tax changes, the BRL 30 million licensing fee and the practical challenges of navigating federal, state and municipal regulations.
Key sessions include “Brazilian Leaders: Building Betting Brands Brazilians Can Believe In,” which will explore how CEOs are strengthening grassroots sports, creating jobs and developing brands that connect with local audiences. In “Regulatory Watch: Too Much Too Soon?” speakers will debate whether the pace of regulation risks slowing market growth.
Delegates will also hear from key regulators on a “Bingo, Casinos & Jogo do Bicho: The Land-Based Makeover” panel, which will examine the opportunities emerging from Bill 2,234/2022, which paves the way for new casinos, expanded bingo licensing and the legalization of the popular Jogo do Bicho game.
Tech and payments on deck
The Tech Innovation track will spotlight how cutting-edge technology is reshaping Brazil’s iGaming and lottery landscape.
Panels will explore how platforms like LotoMinas and Lottopar are pioneering digital lottery transformation, how developers are engineering next-generation casino games with real-time gamification, crash mechanics and immersive UX and how technology-driven player protection is reinforcing compliance under Law No. 14,790/2023.
Another key session will examine how operators can leverage innovation and fan engagement opportunities around the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the first major football tournament in Brazil’s regulated era.
Meanwhile, the Payments track will focus on compliance, innovation, and financial sustainability in Brazil’s fast-evolving payments ecosystem. Sessions will include a deep dive into PIX, the country’s dominant instant-payment system, highlighting how operators can balance speed, UX and compliance.
Panels will also unpack the rise of open banking, exploring how Brazil’s 42 million consents and advanced API infrastructure are redefining data flow, security and player personalization. Rounding out the track, experts will examine anti-money laundering standards under the new framework and how operators can strengthen KYC and fraud prevention processes to stay compliant and build trust.
Affiliates return to the table
Also returning to SBC Summit Rio will be the Affiliate Leaders Summit. Featuring a dedicated stage, the summit will unite leading affiliates, operators and marketing experts to dissect the trends and technologies transforming performance marketing in the region.
Panels will include “Affiliate Reality Check: What Works, What’s Overhyped,” looking at effective strategies versus wasted spend, and “Red Card for Football Sponsorships and Celebrity Endorsements,” unpacking how new restrictions under Law 14.790 are forcing brands to rethink their promotional playbook.
Delegates will also explore how localization and SEO tailored to Brazilian audiences are becoming essential to growth, how AI is disrupting affiliate models and how operator-influencer collaborations are redefining digital engagement across platforms like Twitch, TikTok and Instagram.
Running alongside the Affiliate Leaders Summit, the Marketing Stage will spotlight the creative and strategic side of Brazil’s iGaming sector, with discussions on navigating new sponsorship regulations, building compliant yet impactful promotions and crafting authentic cultural connections through events and community-driven initiatives.
“Brazil’s betting industry is still writing its story, and the next chapter promises to be extraordinary,” added Sojmark. “We’re proud to support the people and companies shaping it.”
