British sportsbook bet365 continues to expand its U.S. operations and has been approved for a license to operate in Tennessee.
The Tennessee Sports Wagering Council lists bet365 as an approved operator in the Volunteer State and confirmed to SBC Americas that the brand was given the green light on Feb. 11.
No launch date has been confirmed by the state or the operator. Whenever bet365 does turn on the lights in Tennessee, it will continue its steady expansion across the U.S. and will join the likes of FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, ESPN Bet, Fanatics and Hard Rock in the state.
A bet365 spokesperson told SBC Americas in October that the company’s main priority in the U.S. is “driving growth in our live states.”.
The brand already offers its sportsbook in 11 states. In December, it was approved to enter Illinois. In the Latin American market, it went live in Brazil last month when that country opened its doors to commercial operators at the start of 2025.
Tennessee a half-billion-dollar market in January
Tennessee was the first state to offer an online-only sports betting market, something that has since also been done by Vermont and Wyoming.
The Sports Wagering Council’s latest revenue reporting shows that Tennesseans spent $549 million on sports betting in January 2025, the fourth-highest on record since the state launched its legal market in November 2020. That total handle is up 17.4% on last year.
The monthly record for gross sports wagers in the state is the $598.6 million taken last November.
Tennessee does not break down betting activity by operator, nor does it provide sportsbooks’ revenue information.
