The operator-led Coalition for Fantasy Sports has unveiled a new partnership with idPair, a safer gaming company dedicated to enhancing consumer protection through research and technology.
In a release, the coalition said that the collaborative initiative will enable its operator members to establish a seamless self-exclusion solution.
The coalition is made up of Underdog Fantasy, PrizePicks, Betr and Dabble and its mission statement is to work together to protect fantasy sports players, promote innovation, ensure responsible play, identify best practices and encourage the growth of the market.
Now, users of any of those brands’ services will be able to choose to simultaneously self-exclude across all platforms, regardless of their location. Players will have the choice on whether they self-exclude on one platform, or on all member platforms. The coalition stated it has broken new ground in the gaming industry by demonstrating high cooperation among four leading operators to raise the industry standard.
“This unprecedented partnership demonstrates the value each of our members place on protecting consumers and improving their mental health,” said JT Foley, executive director of the Coalition for Fantasy Sports. “We’re dedicated to leading the Responsible Gaming space and encourage all operators across the gaming industry to follow suit.”
IdPair said in the release that its advanced data anonymization will ensure 100% privacy and safeguard self-excluded users’ sensitive data.
“At idPair, we are dedicated to connecting data to improve tools that help people play more sustainably through cutting edge anonymization and encryption methods,” added Jonathan Aiwazian, idPair CEO. “Our technology enables stronger safeguards and ensures sensitive information remains secure and private, giving players peace of mind. We’re proud to partner with the Coalition to raise the bar for safer gaming.”
idPair rolled out self-exclusion program earlier this year
idPair has a track record in offering self-exclusion tools.
In June, it rolled out the National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program (NVSEP) in four states. It offers a single-customer view platform to identify and reduce high-risk behaviors using data across multiple operators.
idPair also already worked with operators including Underdog, which announced in March that it had invested in the responsible gaming solutions provider.
Through GuardDog, Underdog’s responsible gaming innovation fund, the operator provided investment as well as allowing idPair access to advisors, mentors and investors. Underdog also confirmed at that time that idPair will be prioritized for integration into Underdog’s product offerings.
idPair’s efforts have been applauded by some leaders in the responsible gambling space.
Brianne Doura-Schawohl, CEO of Doura-Schawohl Consulting LLC and formerly the legislative director for the National Council on Problem Gaming (NCPG), called the new cross-platform self-exclusion program with the coalition “a major advancement in protecting players.”
