A sports-focused data and advanced analytics company is providing bettors and daily fantasy players with an abundance of resources.

For The Numbers (FTN), a provider of data and tools for sports betting and fantasy, is separating itself from the rest of the pack with the launch of a new tool for NFL fans. FTN has debuted StatsHub, a destination of proprietary football data that dates back to 2000.

“We have a full data team going through this stuff every single day making sure things are up to snuff and working efficiently,” Chief Data Officer Frank Brank told SBC Americas.

StatsHub is designed not only for DFS players and sports bettors but also for general football fans and the media. The tool, powered solely by data collected by FTN, provides a customizable research experience with unique filtering and advanced charting.

StatsHub adds to several marquee tools offered by FTN for DFS players and bettors.

FTN also provides subscribers with access to the defense-adjusted value over average system (DVOA), a system developed by FTN’s Aaron Schatz. The DVOA system analyzes every single NFL play from each game and compares a team’s performance to a league-average baseline determined by situation and opponent. The system evaluates factors that can impact a team’s performance from week-to-week including weather and turnovers.

“We try to be the one-stop shop for any information that you might need for whatever sort of game you play,” Chief Operating Officer Marshall Gershon told SBC Americas. “Whether that’s traditional fantasy, one of the many DFS contests available or sports betting, we try to have tools for basically everything that someone might have an interest in.”

FTN also provides its subscribers and non-subscribers with the opportunity to dive deeper into advanced metrics with the FTN Football Almanac. The almanac, which features contributions from FTN writers and data experts, provides readers with extensive coverage of all 32 NFL teams. It also offers predictions for the Super Bowl and NFL Draft.

The almanac adds to FTN’s revenue-generating capabilities, which are spearheaded by subscriptions for B2C operations and its data collection business for B2B operations.

FTN sells its data to other companies that are looking for cost-effective resources.

“Our goal is to be a cheaper alternative to companies that aren’t able to pay $100,000 per year for data but still want to have advanced stats on their websites,” continued Gershon.

FTN is not only a source of information for NFL fans but the company provides data and tools for several major sports leagues, including MLB, the NBA, NHL, and PGA Tour. FTN is also capitalizing on the soaring popularity of the WNBA with data for the league.

FTN bolsters portfolio of partners

FTN has also been expanding its reach through a series of new partnerships.

The company secured a deal with betting product integrator MetaBet to deliver projections with real-time odds. The pact allows FTN to leverage its advanced simulations to provide businesses with the ability to evaluate odds across multiple sportsbooks to find the biggest edge. MetaBet incorporates partner affiliate tracking URLs that link directly to sportsbooks.

“They’re truly the best that I’ve experienced in terms of compiling odds across every single sportsbook and maybe I’m biased but I think we’re the best in the projections realm,” added Brank. “Why not fill holes for one another instead of us leaving money on the table?”

FTN has also partnered with peer-to-peer sports gaming platform Splash Inc. As part of the deal, Splash features FTN’s advanced analytics for NFL markets in weekly content.

FTN will continue to innovate and scale as it aims to attract DFS players and bettors worldwide.
