Simplebet has reported a record-breaking college football season in 2023, noting that it has gathered “significant upward momentum” heading into the playoff campaign.

The microbetting provider detailed that it processed over three million bets during the regular season, marking an increase of 120% year-over-year. Mirroring this positive trend, the handle of those bets also rose by 120% annually.

Looking ahead to playoff season, Simpleber revealed a betting statistic for each of the programs that will feature in the playoffs after the holidays.

It noted that the Michigan Wolverines, the top-seeded team, was the third most bet on team throughout the season, while the Washington Huskies was fourth.

While the Alabama Crimson Tide were the fifth most bet on team, the Texas Longhorns were less popular, being outside the top 10 most popular teams to bet on during the regular season.

The firm noted that the most bet on team during the regular season was the Ohio State Buckeyes, which also featured in the most bet on game. In second place was the Colorado Buffaloes, which Simplebet attributed to the star power of coach Deion Sanders’ popularity.

“We are thrilled with the increases we’ve seen across the board this season with our College Football micro-betting markets,” said Simplebet CEO Chris Bevilacqua. “This is a testament to the hard work of our entire team at Simplebet and the underlying technology, providing markets for 660 games this season, and every upcoming bowl game and playoff game.

“We continue to showcase our dynamic product offering, and how it can fit to any sportsbook operator’s platform.”
