The Seminole Tribe of Florida has hard-launched Hard Rock Bet for all eligible bettors in the Sunshine State, a month after conducting a soft launch.
Hard Rock International CEO Jim Allen confirmed to local outlet Sun Sentinel that players aged 21 and over can now legally sign-up deposit and bet on the platform.
On Nov. 7, the tribe soft-launched the app which allowed access to the platform only to players who had previously signed up for it when it was briefly available in 2021, as well as select Hard Rock rewards members.
But now all bettors can join in the action in Florida through Hard Rock Bet.
This is despite the ongoing state and federal court cases with West Flagler and Associates trying to prevent the Seminole Tribe’s gaming compact with the State of Florida from being legitimate.
At the federal level, West Flagler has petitioned for more time to file its writ of certiorari with the Supreme Court of the United States, citing that it requires to see the outcome of the state case before filing a federal lawsuit.
Meanwhile, on the state level, representatives for Gov. Ron DeSantis filed a response to West Flagler’s claims, arguing that West Flagler has taken too much time to file this state case.
“Petitioners’ delay in filing this action—two and a half years from the compact taking effect—is unjustifiable,” the filing read.
“The fact that Petitioners bet the farm on successfully defending their dubious district-court victory on appeal, only to lose their federal suit…is no excuse for their more-than-two-year delay in bringing their state-law claims to this Court, which they knew full well would be live if they lost the appeal.”
West Flagler has 21 days to respond to this filing and until February to file its writ of certiorari with the SCOTUS.
In the meantime, bettors will be taking advantage of the full Hard Rock Bet experience being available in the Sunshine State for the first time since the winter of 2021.
