Betfred continues to strengthen its position in the US, tapping Kresimir Spajic to take the helm in a newly created Betfred US CEO position.

Betfred is currently live in ten states, including Ohio, which debuted sports betting earlier this year.

Spajic has experience in online gaming both in Eastern Europe and the United States. He worked for five years as the SVP and managing director of online gambling for Hard Rock before moving over to Great Canadian to serve as President of iGaming from 2021-2022.

“I’m truly excited to embark on this journey as the CEO of Betfred USA,” Spajic said in a release. “I am looking forward to working with our exceptional domestic and global talent and partners. Together, we aim to build a sustainable business in the US by delivering unparalleled value and support to our customers while upholding a strong commitment to responsible gaming.”

“It’s an important and exciting time for our US business and Kresimir is the ideal person to further push and expand the Betfred brand in America,” added Betfred founder Fred Done.

Bryan Bennett, who has served as COO of Betfred US since it was formed in 2019, posted on LinkedIn later Thursday that he will be leaving the company effective Sept. 22.

“The job is far from finished, but I’m leaving a solid foundation in the very capable hands of Kresimir Spajic, whose recent appointment as US CEO provides a very bright future for the company,” Bennett wrote.
