The announcements keep rolling out when it comes to sports betting and NASCAR. One day after announcing its deal with nVenue to beef up micro-betting markets, NASCAR announced Friday that FanDuel is now an Authorized Gaming Operator.
The multi-year partnership includes the ability for FanDuel to use certain rights and marks and NASCAR will incorporate FanDuel odds on races into its fantasy racing platform.
FanDuel has also signed former driver and current FOX NASCAR analyst Clint Bowyer as a brand ambassador.
This is not the only AGO agreement for NASCAR, which also has similar deals with other operators. In Virginia, NASCAR was teamed with WynnBet prior to closing up shop earlier this month. In Arizona, Penn Entertainment has market access to the state through NASCAR.
“Partnering with FanDuel, a best-in-class sports gaming company and iconic brand in the space, is a huge win for NASCAR and its fans,” said NASCAR’s Managing Director of Sports Betting Joe Solosky. “We can’t wait to work with FanDuel to deliver our fans more engagement opportunities and expand our sports gaming offerings.”
In the release announcing the partnership, FanDuel cited some statistics around NASCAR betting and how it has grown in popularity over the years. Across the industry, NASCAR betting is up more than 50% year over year. FanDuel, in particular, has seen 70% uptick in the number of NASCAR bets placed and an 88% increase in handle.
“We see the potential in sports gaming offerings around NASCAR and are committed to further engaging its fans with the heavy-passing, side-by-side racing action on the track,“ said Clifton Ma, strategic partnerships, vice president at FanDuel. “We’re thrilled to partner with the premier racing organization in North America and continue to grow its presence in the sports gaming space.”
