Tipico Sportsbook has formed a partnership with Rhinegeist Brewery to launch a branded sports bar in Cincinnati.
Under the provisions of the deal, the pair will open the ‘Tipico Sports Deck’ in the Rhinegeist Taproom as part of an exclusive deal.
Aiming to elevate the experience for sports fans across the city, the Sports Deck will host watch parties and events throughout the year and features nine TVs, sports-themed activations and deck-style seating.
Though set to open later in the year, Tipico and Rhinegeist ceremoniously launched the partnership over the weekend during the ‘First Round Showdown’ which featured a pregame and watch party for the Bengals game.
“We couldn’t be more excited to build a partnership with Tipico, a trusted name in sports betting,” said Rhinegeist Director of Strategic Partnerships Marissa Beck. “We are already a destination for major sporting events in the Cincinnati area, and this partnership will only enrich the experience for our guests.
“Sports are a cornerstone of Cincinnati’s history and cultural fabric, and we look forward to bringing people together with the added incentive of winning big with Tipico.”
Tipico will sponsor several gameday events throughout 2023 in the taproom, including Super Bowl Sunday, NCAA March Madness, MLB Opening Day, and the Kentucky Derby.
Aiming to ‘drive first-time deposits’ to the Tipico mobile app, the partnership is just the latest that the German-based sportsbook has signed in Ohio.
The sportsbook operator has a deal with the Columbus Crew soccer franchise, as well as a partnership with AEG Live, sponsoring several live events in the lead-up to Ohio’s sports betting launch.
Adding another marketing partnership with an established local brand allows Tipico to connect with those hyperlocal communities which it will need to attract if it is to succeed in the competitive Ohio market.
Anticipated as one of the most lucrative sports betting markets in the US behind New York before launch, Ohio has attracted many operators who are all vying for market share.
As a German-native brand, Tipico has leveraged Rhinegeist’s knowledge of local markets to drive brand awareness in the Buckeye State.
“This exhilarating new collaboration with Rhinegeist will allow our Ohio team to transform the gameday experience and harness the unwavering allegiance of the Cincinnati sports fan base,” explained David Paschkes, Chief Commercial Officer of Tipico.
“Rhinegeist has rapidly established itself as a staple of the Cincinnati community and will be an instrumental partner in helping us establish hyperlocal affinity and a level of authenticity unmatched by competitors.”
