DraftKings has provided a new in-person wagering option for sports bettors in Michigan, as it has opened a new retail sportsbook at the Bay Mills Resort & Casino.
Last Sunday, executives from DraftKings, Bay Mills Resort & Casino, and the Sault Ste Marie Chamber of Commerce officially opened the sportsbook with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
Guests were then invited to watch the Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers game in the new sportsbook on its wall of eight large high-definition televisions.
“We’re excited to finally launch the retail DraftKings Sportsbook in our casino,” commented Richard LeBlanc, General Manager of Bay Mills Resort and Casino.
“It has been equally gratifying to demonstrate our DraftKings partnership to our guests and community, which will positively impact our region for years to come.”
DraftKings noted that the sportsbook has been “designed with sports fans in mind” and includes several wagering options including in-game sports betting.
The sportsbook features real-time score updates, three odds boards, and four betting kiosks, with two additional kiosks located on the main casino floor. It also has a cocktail service and a variety of food options.
“We are thrilled to expand our incredible partnership with the Bay Mills Indian Community and to create an amenity that all guests can enjoy at one of the premier entertainment destinations in Northern Michigan,” added Michael Kibort, Sr Director of Retail Sportsbook Operations at DraftKings.
“Our new sportsbook at Bay Mills Resort & Casino will offer sports fans an unmatched high-energy, year-round immersive sports betting experience.”
The retail sportsbook is open seven days a week, with its sport betting kiosks available 24 hours a day.
Earlier this month, DraftKings published its Q3 financial report, where CEO Jason Robins stated that the operator is working toward having a positive adjusted EBITDA by 2024.
