Gaming Society has announced a partnership with the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly public service campaign to promote responsible sports betting.

The sports betting platform has also released a PSA highlighting the importance of responsible betting, featuring its Co-Founder and NBA Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett.

Gaming Society’s mission statement is to “make the sports betting industry more accessible and inclusive by prioritizing betting education for underserved audiences, leading with storytelling to drive gaming behavior, and creating products that highlight the fun and social benefits of betting”.

The Have A Game Plan initiative will be promoted by the platform via content and features published on its newsletters, social channels, and gaming platform. Tools and resources will also be provided on its website to promote the campaign.

“At Gaming Society, our mission is to make sports betting more accessible, responsible, and easier to understand. As sports betting continues to grow, the need to promote responsible betting is more important than ever,” commented Garnett.

“We are excited to join the AGA’s Have a Game Plan initiative and provide education for every type of bettor, whether they are first-timers or experienced.”

The Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly initiative is broken down into four key responsible gaming principles: setting a budget and sticking to it, keeping betting social, knowing the odds, and playing with legal and regulated operators.

Content and gaming products from Gaming Society will highlight the importance of responsible betting and illustrate how to play responsibly. An example of this is Bet Club, its free-to-play NFL game that allows fans to learn how to bet in a safe, risk-free environment while competing for prizes.

Cait DeBaun, Vice President of Strategic Communications & Responsibility at the AGA, added: “Gaming Society understands that player education is core to the future growth of legal sports betting.

“We’re excited to welcome them as a Have A Game Plan partner and authentically spread responsible gaming messages to new and experienced players alike.”

Last month, as part of Responsible Gaming Education Month 2022, SBC Americas spoke to DeBaun about the AGA’s and the gaming industry’s responsible gaming efforts.
