Catena Media is ‘finalizing preparations’ to launch its sports betting affiliate operations in Kansas, ahead of the state’s official launch on September 1.

The company confirmed its intentions to enter the state as Governor Laura Kelly announced a launch date coinciding with the beginning of the NFL season.

Catena Media is already giving pre-launch offers to operators in Kansas and has a ‘detailed plan’ for its operations in the Sunflower state as well as other soon-to-launch states including Maryland, Ohio and Massachusetts. The latter three are set to launch in 2023, making next year a period of significant opportunity for operators and affiliates alike.

Dustin Gouker, Catena Media Vice President of North America, Content, said: “Our strong portfolio of national and regional sites puts us in a solid position ahead of the huge customer acquisition period we see when any new state launches sports betting.

“We are excited about this next wave of regulated legal online sports betting in the US.”

Catena is eyeing significant growth in the four upcoming state launches, which collectively boast a population of 27.9 million, higher than the firm’s largest market – New York.

Across all four states, Catena will utilize its portfolio of sports betting affiliate sites including LegalSportsReport.com, TheLines.com, Lineups.com and GamingToday.com, which its states are ‘well positioned to take advantage of the forthcoming launches.

Up to a dozen operators are set to be active in Kansas which include ‘many’ of Catena Media’s partners.
