Hard Rock International has made a key leadership appointment for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, naming Joe Lupo as its new President.

The appointment is subject to regulatory approval of the operator’s purchase of The Mirage Hotel & Casino from MGM Resorts International

With more than 30 years of casino gaming experience, Lupo will take over as President once the Nevada Gaming Commission licensing process has been concluded. In November 2018, he was named the President of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City after spending two years at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa.

He also has previous experience working in gaming establishments in Nevada, having worked for various Boyd Gaming properties in Vegas and Laughlin, including as the Director of Race and Sportsbook at the former Stardust Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.

Lupo’s new Vegas role was announced by Hard Rock International Chairman Jim Allen, who has been the driving force behind the operator’s purchase of The Mirage and its plan to construct a Guitar Hotel on the Vegas strip.

“As president of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City for the past four years, Joe Lupo has achieved amazing results,” commented Allen on Lupo’s appointment.

“Thanks to his dedication and expertise, financial results continue to outperform expectations, while our team members share an unmatched commitment to guest service and satisfaction. I am confident Joe Lupo will achieve even greater success at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.”

Replacing Lupo in Atlantic City as President will be Anthony Faranca, whose promotion will be effective from September 1, subject to regulatory approval.

A seasoned casino executive, Faranca has experience managing large gaming properties in several states including Maryland, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey for the likes of Caesars Entertainment, Parx Casino, Station Casinos, and Cordish Companies.

Allen added: “Anthony’s deep knowledge of the Atlantic City and Northeast region is an invaluable asset to the company. We are confident that Anthony will continue Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City’s legacy of success and impactful leadership in the community.”
