Rush Street Interactive, Codere, Betcris, and Lotería de Río Negro were among the big winners at the inaugural SBC Awards Latinoamérica on Thursday night.
Inés Sainz, Mexico’s leading sports broadcaster, hosted the lavish ceremony at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, as the best-performing companies in the region’s betting and gaming industry were honored in front of an audience of delegates from the SBC Summit Latinoamérica conference.
In the headline operator categories, Rush Street Interactive was named Sportsbook of the Year, while Codere landed the Casino Operator of the Year prize.
Lotería de Río Negro won the Bingo & Lottery Operator of the Year trophy, while the Rising Star of the Year honor went to Kaizen Gaming. There were also successes for Betsson Group and Apuesta Total in the Sponsorship and Marketing Campaign categories respectively.
Betcris enjoyed a particularly successful evening, as the operator won Employer of the Year and its CEO JD Duarte was named Leader of the Year, to add to the company’s silver awards in both the Sportsbook and Sponsorship sections.
Sportingtech enjoyed a double success, with victory in both the Platform Provider and Sportsbook Supplier categories, while there were also honors for BetConstruct, BetGames, Pragmatic Play, UltraPlay, Altenar, Aristocrat Technologies, Samba Digital, Paysafe Group, Vibra Gaming, Genius Sports, and GoldenRace in the supplier awards.
In the Affiliate of the Year category, Oddspedia saw off competition from silver award winner Eightroom to collect the prize.
Cristian Robalino, SBC’s VP Marketing, Americas, said: “The SBC Awards Latinoamérica ceremony was a great evening and one that underlined the creativity, innovation and growing success of the betting and gaming industry in the region.
“It was also a fantastic way in which to round off our first step into in-person events for markets across Latin America, as it followed directly on from our very successful executive-level conference. The local industry has been very welcoming to us and we’re already looking forward to the 2022 editions of SBC Summit Latinoamérica and SBC Awards Latinoamérica.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors from around the world for their continuing support, without which it would be impossible to stage these valuable industry events.”
The next SBC awards ceremony takes place at New York City on December 2, 2021, when the Edison Ballroom hosts the first edition of the SBC Awards North America.
It features 23 categories for operators, affiliates, and suppliers, with many of the biggest brands in the US and Canadian industry among the companies shortlisted for the prizes.
